Battle Rock Park is named for the historic battle that took place at Battle Rock where the Qua-to-mah Native Americans fought Capt. William Tichenor's men in 1851.

This is the heart of one of the most spectacualr views on the coast. And if they're lucky, visitors can see the Grey whales that like to hang out in the cove area.

There is a city-maintained Visitor Center and restroom there for information about the park and the area. Battle Rock Park is within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops, motels, art galleries, an antique store and a bank.

Today’s most famous event at Battle Rock Park is Jubilee fireworks during the 4th of July weekend where the volunteer fire department sets off what some consider the best display on the coast. The park serves as a natural amphitheater for the visitors. Photo crowd sitting on grass watching fireworks

Oregon recently named Battle Rock Park a state Wayfinders Point, and the state’s Department of Transportation (ODOT) installed a webcam to monitor park and traffic flow.

Rock Park Bioswale Garden
Our Bioswale Garden was conceived, designed, and constructed
in order to beautify Battlerock Park
while demonstrating how best to deal with stormwater runoff, which is often polluted. It was built and planted last
fall by local volunteers with the help
of Liza Ehle and her By the Sea
Gardens landscaping crew.
